Shelley Otoo is our friendly face of the project. When you ring in to book an appointment or to ask for information about the project via the 0800 free phone number Shelley is there to help. Shelley has worked for jobcentre plus before moving on the Stepping Stones. Always happy, she is your start on your road to employment.

HEWAN CLARKE: MARKETING OFFICER

If Hewan is not at an event he can be found interfacing with organisations all over Manchester, from Wythenshawe to Cheetham Hill if there is a Doctors Surgery, Children's Centre, Housing association or library Hewan has put our latest leaflet there. Tuesdays find him in his beloved Hulme promoting Stepping Stones to anyone who will listen to him at the large ASDA store (see Gallery 5).Hewan leads a busy lifestyle outside Stepping Stones as he lectures at the Manchester Universities on Black History. In his spare time he is a DJ (Seemingly he use to work at a place called The Hacienda).

LINDA SANDIFORD: ADVISOR - ALEXANDRA PARK JCP

My name is Linda Sandiford and I have been a stepping stones advisor for the past 2years based in Alex Park Jobcentre Plus.

I try to motivate all my clients by advising them to do basic skills courses such as ESOL, literacy and maths courses, I also encourage clients to attend appropriate training such as the stepping stones goals training that helps clients to focus on their job goals.

GEMMA SHILDS : ADVISOR - MOSTON LANE

Gemma is one of our advisors based in Stepping Stones Moston Lane shop in Harpurhey. The shop has an informal atmosphere where customers are welcome to drop in and chat with the friendly advisors.
Gemma makes sure all her customers have up-to-date CV’s that reflect their skills and is on hand to help search for job vacancies and fill in application forms. Recently Sofia wrote 'I am extremely pleased with the work Gemma put into making the perfect CV for me. It was very professional and I am more than happy to send it off to apply for vacancies now, I feel pleased with the end result and hope to find employment soon, Gemma has sent off for vacancies and has helped me in looking for sustainable employment'.
