Work Solutions
We work with partners in the public, private, community and voluntary sectors
to deliver high quality and innovative services aimed at improving skills
and securing employment for the socially excluded, disadvantaged and economically
inactive people in the Manchester Sub-region (MSR).
Through its network of 15 centres, Work Solutions has a
physical presence across Greater Manchester. Work Solutions works in
close collaboration with local authorities, Jobcentre Plus, Learning
Skills Council (LSC) and various local regeneration partnerships to significantly
improve the employment prospects for local people.

The DWP Resource centre
This is a online resource centre being designed to give advisory bodies,
local authorities, other professional advisers and members of the public
accurate and detailed information on benefits and services from the
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The information is intended
for specialists, but is available to everyone.

Remploy
Remploy is a specialist employment services group, providing disabled people and those facing complex barriers to gaining a job with the support they need to find sustainable employment.
Every year we help thousands of disabled people to achieve employment, we do this by working closely with employers to identify their needs and then working with individuals to help them become more employable by developing their skills.
Through our strong links with local and national employers we are able to offer opportunities in a wide range of sectors.

Manchester Children's Information Service
Looking for childcare?
If you live in Manchester the friendly team at Manchester Children’s
Information Service can provide you with detailed childcare information
and a childcare pack, which contains lots of useful guidance booklets.
The information you receive will be tailored to your circumstances
such as the age of your child, where and when you need childcare etc.
Information is available on fully registered day nurseries, children's
centres (run by local authority and Sure Start), registered childminders,
out of school clubs, holiday play schemes, pre-school playgroups and

Manchester Event Volunteers
The Manchester Event Volunteers (MEV) developed from the Volunteer
Crew at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.
Since 2002, Volunteers have supported over 200 community, regional and national events including
the Salford and London Triathlons, 2005 UEFA European Women's Football Championship, Great Manchester
Run, and the 2003 UEFA Champions League Final.
Volunteering with MEV is about personal choice and you get involved
with the events which interest you most. You can also take part in
a range of interesting events as well as training opportunities with
local colleges, leading to further qualifications and, if you want
it, help with finding a job!

Breakthrough UK
works closely with Stepping Stones in the Manchester area and aims

people face.
There are three strands to our work:
1. Our work with individual disabled people includes employment support

Cheetham and Crumpsall Welcome Centre
A partnership project based in Trinity United Church, Cheetham.
The Welcome Centre emerged from the shared vision of local health visitors, Cheetham Parish, the Black Health Agency and others as a response to a well-identified community need in the area. It provides a drop-in, one-stop shop resource with a friendly cafe style atmosphere for individuals and families new to the area.
The Centre opened in November 2004 but it was officially launched in June 2005.
The Centre is currently open for two half-day sessions (Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings) and is used by up to 30-40 people per session on average.
The project is managed by a management committee composed of people from partner agencies, volunteers and service users. At present the centre has about 35 volunteers registered and has 2 staff, a Centre Co-ordinator and a Volunteer Co-ordinator
